Greetings from Mountain View Christian Academy!
Mountain View Christian Academy is an extension of the ministry of the Church of Christ at Mountain View. Our vision is to be the premiere educational institution in Frederick County, Virginia, and a forerunner for kingdom education delivered in a manner worthy of bringing glory to the excellent name of Jesus Christ. We are accredited by the Association of Christian Schools Internationals (ACSI), as well as active members of the Virginia Council for Private Education (VCPE).
The history of Mountain View Christian Academy began long before its doors ever opened. In 1970, the elders and evangelists of the Church of Christ at Mountain View began to pray for a Christian school. In 1991, the church opened Training His Tots, a two day preschool that only months later became a full-day daycare. In 1992, the doors of Mountain View Christian Academy opened with five kindergarten students. The original intent was to add one grade each year until reaching the 12th grade. That plan changed, however, when in 1994, four ninth graders asked about Christian education, and the school began a high school video program. By 1998, the school offered a complete program and had use of the church's Family Life center for classrooms, a library, a kitchen, a cafeteria, and a regulation gymnasium.
Mountain View continued to grow and do great things when in 2001, it became the youngest school in the area, and the first Christian school in Frederick County, to receive accreditation. In 2003 and 2004, a modular building was added to house additional classrooms, the library, and a computer lab. The Northwest Campus building was also closed in to house classrooms for secondary students. In 2005, the kindergarten students who started in 1992 graduated, becoming the first graduates to complete their entire K-12 education at Mountain View. In 2007, the school celebrated its 15th anniversary. Just a year later, in 2008, the school renewed its accreditation with ACSI. 2011 saw the school celebrate 20 years of offering Christ-centered education. The school celebrated its renewed accreditation with ACSI in the spring of 2015 and again in 2020. During the 2021-2022 school session, MVCA celebrated its 30th year of offering Christ-centered, biblically based education to the families of the Northern Shenandoah Valley.
For more than 30 years, MVCA has been making a difference in the lives of students, families, and the surrounding community. We invite you to visit us and see the MVCA difference for yourself!
