Safety and Security
Standard Response ProtocolThe safety and security of the staff and students of MVCA is of utmost importance to us! To best protect our MVCA community in case of emergency, we have partnered with local first responders and the “I Love U Guys” Foundation in the utilization of their Standard Response Protocol (SRP). Information regarding each of the five directives - hold, secure, lockdown, evacuate, shelter - is sent home annually so that parents are aware of the practiced protocols and can have informed discussions with their students about what to do in an emergency. |
Staff TrainingEach year, MVCA staff undergo mandatory training on school safety and security. These trainings include Bloodborne Pathogen Prevention, Infectious and Communicable Disease Exposure and Prevention, and Child Abuse and Neglect and Mandatory Reporting. In addition, MVCA works with local law enforcement to provide annual Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) and Stop the Bleed training. |
Campus VisitorsAll visitors to the MVCA campus must be buzzed in to the front entrance by the main office staff using video doorbell technology. Once admitted into the building, visitors must scan their government issued IDs using Raptor Visitor Management system upon which they will receive a temporary visitor ID with their picture. |
Parent Alert Emergency NotificationsMVCA may be closed, delayed in opening, or dismissed early due to inclement weather or other emergency situations. Should parents need to be notified quickly in an emergency situation, MVCA uses the FACTS Parent Alert system to text all custodial guardians using the cell phone numbers provided at the time of enrollment. To ensure you are able to receive our alerts, please verify that the cell phone number attached to your family's FACTS account is accurate and text the keyword “START” to 31706 from your mobile device. Any text alerts from our school will begin with “Parent_Alert.” Per the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, we provide all recipients with the option to opt out of receiving school alerts. Anytime we send a text alert, you'll see Stop to End. If you reply Stop, you will no longer receive our text alerts. |
Security Upgrades MVCA is committed to the safety and security of our community and as such works regularly with local law enforcement to review and enhance our plans, procedures, and security technology. New for the 2023-2024 school year, we plan to add Raptor's Emergency Management System which will allow - among its many features - expedited connection to first responders, streamlined management of drills and drill reporting, and quick access to student and staff locations. |
