Missions and Outreach
Each year, members of our senior class have the opportunity to choose a location for their senior trip that may be a once-in-a-lifetime educational opportunity. This trip takes place just prior to graduation and students raise their money through fundraising and support. The trip is designed to culminate the years of the students’ schooling in a trip that helps them see God’s hand in the world and their place in being culture shapers in that world. We have also recognized the need to give younger students an opportunity prior to their senior year to serve overseas and experience a different culture so we have developed a relationship with several missionaries in the Dominican Republic. An annual trip with interested 9th graders was created where the students serve others for a week in VBS activities and work projects at a missions camp side by side with the Dominican people. Many older secondary students, graduates and parents have become repeat attenders of this Easter week of service. Both of these trips have proven very successful in educating the whole student and making individuals aware of ways that they can make an impact not only in their local society, but the world. Parents are invited to travel with students and take advantage of these mission opportunities as well. In addition, we offer a missions elective class that takes local trips. |
